I don’t want Velcro showing — what’s the solution?
I don’t want Velcro showing — what’s the solution?
No problem at all — this is one of the most common questions we receive.
You can use our Hidden Velcro Method to keep everything looking clean and seamless.
1. Open & Clean
Lift the garage door slightly (about 1/4 open) so you can reach the top front section of the door from inside the garage.
Clean this area with rubbing alcohol and allow it to dry completely.
2. Apply the Velcro
Attach the Velcro strip along the cleaned top section of the garage door, pressing firmly from one end to the other.
3. Attach the Cover
Start at one top corner and press the top edge of the cover onto the Velcro strip.
Let the rest of the cover hang naturally to keep it aligned and avoid tangling with door tracks.
4. Secure the Bottom
Adjust the elastic bands so the cover sits snugly but not overstretched.
Hook the bands onto the lower hinges of the garage door.
Open and close the door once to test the fit.
If the bands feel too tight halfway up, simply loosen them slightly and check again.
Done!
Helpful Tip:
Before attaching the full Velcro strip, you can temporarily stick one corner using the extra Velcro pieces included in your package. Close the garage door to see where the bottom edge falls, then adjust before final installation.
Will the Velcro damage my garage door?
Will the Velcro damage my garage door?
No — the Velcro used with Shineful garage door covers is designed to be removable without damaging the surface.
If you ever want to remove it, simply warm the adhesive gently with a hair dryer to soften it, then peel it off slowly. Any small remaining residue can be easily cleaned with a standard adhesive remover.
For an even cleaner look, many customers prefer our Hidden Velcro Method.
This method places the Velcro on the top edge of the garage door panel — the part that sits under the rubber weather seal when the door is closed. This keeps the Velcro out of sight, protected from the elements, and ready to reuse next season.
Note: If your garage door was recently painted, we recommend waiting until the paint is fully cured before applying the Velcro.
